Your Role as a Welder
As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing field-based welding, fabrication, and repair work on crushing spreads and a wide range of heavy equipment across our Belleoram quarry operations. This is a rotational trades role based at our Belleoram, NL site, working 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off on 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication on crushing spreads including crushers, screens, chutes, hoppers, and conveyors.
- Repair and reinforce heavy equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, excavators, and support equipment.
- Conduct structural repairs, hardfacing, and wear plate installation to extend equipment life.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to complete fabrication and repair work.
- Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of crushing equipment components.
- Inspect equipment for wear, cracks, and structural deficiencies, recommending repairs as needed.
- Work closely with mechanics and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup and safe operation at all times.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and quality standards across all site activities.
What You’ll Bring
- Journeyperson Welder certification (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working in aggregate, mining, or heavy equipment environments is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication practices.
- Experience with structural repairs, hardfacing, and wear protection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and work independently in a field environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Commitment to safety as the top priority — making safety part of every task.
- Ability to obtain a clean miner’s medical.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to work a remote, rotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts) in Belleoram, NL.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual tasks as required.
